Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy S 20 Fun Edition (FE) through a virtual global event dubbed “Samsung Unpacked For Everyone” that was attended by tech enthusiasts in Nairobi, Kenya who showed their excitement on the company’s Facebook page.
The smartphone, which is an upgrade of the Galaxy S 20 launched in March this year is developed fully from feedback collected from Samsung customers worldwide.
“We are constantly speaking to our fans and taking feedback, and we heard what they loved the most about our Galaxy S20 series, what features they used most often and what they would want to see in a new smartphone,” said Charles Kimari, Head of Department, Integrated Mobile, for Samsung Electronics East Africa.
“The S20 FE is an extension of the Galaxy S20 family and is the start of a new way to bring meaningful innovation to even more people to let them do the things they love with the best of Galaxy.”
A statement from the company said that the Galaxy S20 FE was developed to deliver unique experiences to reach even more consumers.
“Samsung took select features of the Galaxy S20 series, such as the smooth scrolling display, an AI-powered camera, advanced chipset, hyper-fast connectivity, all day battery, expandable storage, with a streamlined premium design, in order to create the all-new Galaxy S20 FE,” reads the statement.
The gadget comes in 6 colours – Navy, Red, Lavender, Mint, White and Orange, with a 4,500mAh battery capable of lasting for 24 hours. The battery also allows for super fast charging.
And since life can be unpredictable, the device is water and dust resistant IP68 rated. In case of breakages, consumers can get repairs via Samsung Care+.
From October 23, 2020, the smartphone will be widely available through Samsung.com, online distributors and retailers online. Pre-orders begin on October 9, 2020. The device will retail at USD 750 (Ksh 80,000)
